While TRO was engaged in post war rehabilitation and reconstruction
work, it was caught unawares by Tsunami. Despite the suddenness with
which the Tsunami struck, TRO was able to rise up to the occasion
and mitigate the sufferings of the people by the experienced
handling of the disaster, by providing basic needs to the people.
Subsequently the TRO got into action with the co-operation of
various local and international NGOs to provide a light of hope to
the suffering people. In that the peoples need were assessed and on
the basis of priority the following requirements were taking care of
with out delay:

Immediate humanitarian needs

Community based psychosocial care

Shelter (temporary & permanent)

Rebuilding school & education system

Livelihood
